With a stand off from 0.6 to 2 meters and a scan area of 0.1 to 1.15 square meters, the LMS-SR has been designed for both in-line and off-line part and assembly measurement applications. With an ability to accurately measure gap and flush assemblies in motion (4.3m/min or 14ft/min), the LMS-SR is designed for fast paced, ever changing environments.

Metrology is about making precision measurements. While digital 3D models are an important tool in design, manufacturing and quality control, the majority of the time it is precision measurements that are required. Like most non-contact metrology systems, the LMS generates models. Unlike most non-contact metrology systems, the LMS does not make modeling a requirement for making measurements.
Akin to a caliper in hand, the LMS's Steerable Laser Beam (SLB) capability enables the user to measure only the areas of interest, ensuring accurate, relevant information without a lot of unneeded data. Collecting information from user designated areas of interest increases the data acquisition speed and decreases the amount of data collected. Therefore, the processing time is greatly reduced which, in turn, helps to speed up productivity.
