Neptec's Mongoose

Designed for Homeland Security, Mongoose is a sensor system focused on surveillance and force protection applications.

Combining an active sensor component with Neptec's 3Di processing techniques, Mongoose provides sensitive, real-time change detection capabilities from a mobile platform. Unlike pixel based methods of change detection requiring static backgrounds and stable lighting, the Mongoose system works in dynamic lighting conditions from a moving sensor.

Focuses on Processing 3D Imagery Data to Identify Anomalies and Changes

In keeping with Neptec's MILD philosophy (More Information, Less Data), the Mongoose system focuses on processing 3D imagery data to identify anomalies and changes. The system is designed to provide simple clear cues that help an operator identify situations that should be investigated further and not on using up more precious bandwidth with large 3D models of the world.

Flexible and able to work with a wide range of 3D sensors, the Mongoose system is most effective when combined with one of Neptec's smart sensors, like TriDAR.

Detect Changes as Small as a Few Cubic Millimeters

Depending on the sensor the Mongoose can detect changes as small as a few cubic millimeters at a range of a few meters to vehicle sized objects at a range of a kilometer. The Mongoose system can be integrated on a variety of mobile platforms from autonomous robots to fully manned surveillance vehicles.
