Get more information on Neptec's LMS

Developed for both in-line and off-line medium and large volume metrology applications, Neptec's LMS-SR and LMS-MR offer turn-key solutions for rapid, high-precision three-dimensional metrology. Providing high resolution and detailed inspections of complex geometries and areas of damage, the LMS products offer a variety of features including:
Steerable Laser Beam (SLB)
In-Motion Feature Measurement
Speed
Large Scan Area
Precision
Smart Scanner Software
Neptec products are smart, and are capable of recognizing features such as bar codes and assembly parts at the sensor end.

Designed to be robust and flexible, the LMS Products are capable of working in a variety of industrial environments, such as:
Aircraft Industry
Tooling and part inspection: wing jig box, ribs, stringers.
Large scale metrology: wing spars, landing gear components, cowlings, skins.
Large assembly marry up: wing, H-stab, V-stab fuselage (OML circumference measurement).
Automotive Industry
In-motion gap and flush measurement.
Stamped part inspection.
Sheet Metal Industry
Measurement and CAD comparison of stamping dies, hole drilling templates.
Large scale measurement of HVAC units and housings.
Composite Industry
Measurement of co-cured composite assemblies.
Measurement and CAD comparison of large scale composite parts and molds.
Damage detection and measurement in airfoils.

Metrology is about making precision measurements. While digital 3D models are an important tool in design, manufacturing and quality control, the majority of the time it is precision measurements that are required. Like most non-contact metrology systems, the LMS generates models. Unlike most non-contact metrology systems, the LMS does not make modeling a requirement for making measurements.
Akin to a caliper in hand, the LMS's Steerable Laser Beam (SLB) capability enables the user to measure only the areas of interest, ensuring accurate, relevant information without a lot of unneeded data. Collecting information from user designated areas of interest increases the data acquisition speed and decreases the amount of data collected. Therefore, the processing time is greatly reduced which, in turn, helps to speed up productivity.
